ETH CC 2025
The Book of Ethereum at EthCC Cannes – Building Bridges, One Conversation at a Time
From June 30 to July 4, the Book of Ethereum ($BOOE) community was present as a sponsor at EthCC in Cannes. Our journey began with an invitation from Joseph Schweitzer — a long-standing Ethereum contributor and member of the Ethereum Foundation. It led us into a week of deep connection, discovery, and dialogue across the Ethereum ecosystem.
Day 1 – Builders & Bridges
We kicked off our EthCC experience by reconnecting with Francesco, DevRel at MetaMask, during his Builders Night — an evening full of meaningful conversations with teams from across the Layer 1 and Layer 2 landscape. We spoke with projects like Kadena, Celo, and Aave, finding shared values in community building, decentralization, and cultural resilience.
Day 2 – Privacy Matters
On the second day, we attended the Web3Privacy Now side event. There, we met Mikola, one of the core developers of the Web3Privacy project, as well as Bob Summerwill — former Ethereum Foundation contributor and long-time Ethereum advocate. These encounters helped solidify a strong connection with Strato Mercata, the company led by Kieren Lubin (son of Consensys founder Joseph Lubin). Conversations revolved around onchain privacy, governance culture, and future collaboration opportunities.
Day 3 – Devconnect on the Horizon
We had an insightful meeting with the organizing team of Devconnect Argentina — the largest upcoming Ethereum event worldwide. We explored how $BOOE could play a meaningful role there, not just as a participant but as a contributor to the cultural and educational layer of Ethereum’s global narrative. The discussions left us excited about the possibility of helping co-create the onchain cultural experience at Devconnect.
Day 4 – Picnic & Possibilities
Migle from Web3Privacy invited us to a relaxed community picnic. Between bites and fresh air, we spoke about how Web3Privacy and $BOOE could collaborate during future events — co-hosting sessions, supporting one another’s ecosystems, and amplifying privacy- and community-first narratives within Ethereum’s broader movement.
Day 5 – Gardens & Futures
We ended our EthCC journey with a heartfelt conversation with Jason Chaskin from the Ethereum Foundation. We spoke about the future of the Infinity Garden, a vision space within EF for exploring long-term, cultural, and experimental ideas. $BOOE’s mission — to protect and celebrate Ethereum’s social layer through story, meme, and movement — felt deeply aligned with the Garden’s ethos.
Conclusion
Our presence at EthCC Cannes was more than just symbolic — it was a week of building trust, forming unlikely alliances, and planting seeds for future collaboration. We’re grateful to the Ethereum Foundation, the organizers, and all the builders and dreamers we met.
The Book of Ethereum continues — not as a fixed text, but as a living community weaving culture, narrative, and code.
Onward.
