$BOOE at 10 Years of Ethereum in Zug – Honoring the Past, Building the Future

On July 30, the Book of Ethereum ($BOOE) community traveled to Zug, Switzerland — Ethereum’s birthplace — to celebrate 10 years of Ethereum alongside the Ethereum Foundation, Akasha Foundation, and Bitcoin Suisse. It was a day filled with gratitude, vision, and powerful reconnection to the origins of Ethereum's mission.

A Decade of Ethereum — and a Glimpse Into the Next

The gathering opened with a heartfelt keynote by Mihai Alisie — co-founder of Ethereum and Bitcoin Magazine. He thanked everyone present for their contributions over the past ten years, reflecting on Ethereum’s evolution from idea to global movement.

What followed was a powerful presentation by several Ethereum core members, culminating in Mihai’s major announcement:

  • A new physical home for Ethereum is coming — "etherLaken", in Switzerland.

This ambitious project aims to bring at least 10% of the Ethereum ecosystem to this new location, planting roots for long-term research, coordination, and onchain cultural infrastructure.

After the presentation, we had the honor of speaking with Mihai one-on-one. He encouraged the $BOOE community to plan a visit to etherLaken, and explore how we could contribute to its development — both in presence and in spirit. We captured a photo and video message with Mihai for our community, and thanked him deeply for his time and support.

Connecting Research, Students & Booelief

Another highlight of the day was meeting Theo, a researcher from the Ethereum Foundation focused on academic engagement. With Tarzan — a $BOOE community member — still active as a student, this conversation sparked immediate possibilities.

Theo shared his interest in working with $BOOE on academic and educational initiatives within Ethereum, and invited us to continue the conversation in more depth during ETHGlobal NYC, where he will also be present. It was one of those rare, serendipitous meetings that could turn into something long-lasting.

Booelievers, Born in Zug

Throughout the day, we connected with a wide range of Ethereum believers — many of whom walked away as new Booelievers. It was a beautiful reminder that the values we carry — culture, resilience, community, and memes with meaning — resonate across all corners of the ecosystem.

As we often say:

So it is written, so it shall be mined.
